As per the new curriculum, students will learn about traffic lights, travel norms, personal safety, and road safety principles. In Grades 2 and 4, lessons will focus on basic traffic rules through subjects like Hindi and English. In Grade 6, students will engage with personal safety topics via Physical Education, while Grade 7 subjects will reinforce road safety awareness. Recognising the importance of deeper understanding, Grade 9 students will study the specially titled module “Sadak ki Raksha- Sabki Suraksha” (Road Safety- Everyone’s Safety).
These lessons are crafted in collaboration with traffic police, ensuring realistic and practical content. A curriculum committee has reviewed the lesson plans, and they are now slated for integration into the textbooks of all languages and relevant subjects starting in the new school year.
