The agreement establishes a collaborative framework focusing on emerging technologies, startups, research and development, knowledge exchange, and skill development. It aims to deepen innovation-led engagement between Karnataka and Chile and promote cross-border partnerships.

Chile becomes the first Latin American nation to join Karnataka’s Global Innovation Alliance (GIA), a flagship initiative through which the state engages with over 30 countries to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and global research collaboration.

The partnership is expected to enhance market access for startups, facilitate joint R&D projects, and promote academic exchanges. It will also support the sharing of innovation governance strategies and bolster institutional links between research bodies in both regions.

Karnataka, known for its robust startup ecosystem and strong innovation infrastructure, views the collaboration as a step towards unlocking new opportunities in global technology exchange. Chile, aiming to strengthen its tech ecosystem, is inviting Indian startups to explore growth avenues in its markets.
