Karnataka State Cricket Association’s ACUK celebrates 50th AGM, elects new committee

In a significant milestone, the Association of Cricket Umpires of Karnataka (ACUK) recently marked its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) premises. The event was a testament to the support and patronage provided by KSCA, which has been instrumental in nurturing and promoting cricket umpires of national and international acclaim.

The AGM saw a robust turnout with members from across the state participating in the proceedings. Key among the activities was the election of a new Working Committee for the term 2024-26. R.V. Pradhankumar Urs was elected as the President, with B.S. Raghotham and J. Nagaraja assuming the roles of Vice-President and Hon. Secretary, respectively. M.R. Yoganarasimha and J. Rahul Rajh were elected as Hon. Joint Secretary and Hon. Treasurer, respectively.

The Working Committee comprises a diverse group of members including M.S. Suhas, Mithun S. Patil, Shri. M.R. Ravindranath, and N. Shashidhar. Their appointments reflect ACUK’s commitment to maintaining a strong leadership that can guide the organization in its ongoing efforts to develop and promote cricket umpiring in Karnataka.

The ACUK has been a breeding ground for umpires who have gone on to serve the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in various capacities. The organization’s success in producing umpires of national and international repute has not gone unnoticed, with the BCCI consistently recognizing and rewarding their contributions.

This AGM marks a new chapter for ACUK, with the newly elected committee expected to continue the organization’s legacy of excellence in cricket umpiring and further strengthen its ties with the KSCA and BCCI.
