In a dramatic rescue operation, a 19-year-old woman from Karnataka’s Tumakuru district was saved after spending 12 harrowing hours in a lake. The young woman, identified as Hamsa, reportedly slipped into the lake while attempting to take a selfie, and despite battling strong currents, managed to survive until rescue teams arrived.

Hamsa’s ordeal began when she lost her footing near the lake’s edge while trying to capture a photo. She was quickly swept into deeper waters and became trapped, clinging to survival amid the strong currents. Her absence was soon noticed by family members who raised the alarm, prompting a swift response from local authorities. Within hours, 15 firefighters and emergency personnel were mobilized, and the team worked through the night to locate and rescue Hamsa safely.
