The weather activity is being caused by an upper air cyclonic circulation located over central coastal Andhra Pradesh and nearby regions, approximately 0.9km above mean sea level. Due to this, a yellow alert has been issued for 18 districts on Monday. These include Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri, Davangere, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamrajnagar, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Tumakuru and Kolar. The IMD has cautioned residents in these areas about possible heavy rain and strong winds.

The yellow alert will continue into Tuesday, with rain likely in 15 districts, including arts of South Interior Karnataka such as Bengaluru Urban. In addition to these areas, coastal and North Interior Karnataka are also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall throughout the week.

However, the districts of Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Bidar are likely to experience dry conditions despite the widespread rain forecast elsewhere in the state. The public has been advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
