The victims, Meghash (17), Charan (17), and Shravanthi (28), all hailed from Bagepalli Taluk in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district. They were part of a group who had travelled to the sacred Tirumala temple to seek Lord Venkateswara’s blessings. Having completed their darshan, they were on their way back home when tragedy struck mid-journey.
Nine other passengers sustained serious injuries in the crash, with at least two said to be in critical condition. All the injured have been shifted to Madanapalle Government Hospital for treatment. Local police rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the accident, carrying out rescue operations and clearing the site for safe traffic movement.
Preliminary reports suggest that the speeding unidentified vehicle hit the TT van from behind, causing it to overturn and inflicting severe damage.
