A massive tree fell near the Agumbe check post in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district, causing a major traffic jam on the Agumbe Ghat road. The incident brought vehicles to a standstill for over an hour, including more than ten ambulances carrying patients and their relatives.

The fallen tree blocked the narrow mountain pass, creating chaos for vehicles coming from Udupi and surrounding areas. Several ambulances were caught in the jam, leading to distress for patients in urgent need of medical care.

Local residents and Forest Department officials quickly began efforts to clear the tree from the road. However, the sheer size of the tree made the process time-consuming, further delaying the movement of vehicles.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of key ghat roads to natural obstructions and the urgent need for quicker response mechanisms in such emergencies. Authorities are now working to restore normal traffic flow.
