Key activities under this campaign
The campaign is focused on expanding access to essential financial services. Key activities include opening bank accounts for previously unbanked individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), updating KYC details for existing account holders, and enrolling eligible citizens in government-backed insurance and pension schemes. These include the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
Efforts are also being made to raise awareness about digital fraud, unclaimed deposits, and available grievance redressal channels. The camps additionally assist individuals in updating nomination details for their bank, insurance, and pension accounts.
In Karnataka, 2,824 camps have been held so far, resulting in the opening of 31,835 Jan Dhan accounts since July 1, 2025. Moreover, 68,820 people have enrolled in PMJJBY, 91,922 in PMSBY, and 24,220 in APY. Banks are conducting these camps in coordination with local governing bodies.
By focusing on underserved regions, particularly tribal and backward districts, the campaign is fostering financial inclusion and enhancing access to social security schemes, contributing to the broader goal of economic empowerment.
