In a major morale-boosting move, DGP Salim orders special casual leave for police personnel on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries to support work-life balance.
The Karnataka Police force has received a significant welfare boost, with Director General of Police (DGP) Salim issuing an order granting special casual leave to police personnel on the occasion of their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
The decision is aimed at recognising the intense work pressure faced by police staff and helping them maintain a better balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. Police personnel often work under continuous stress, long hours and challenging conditions, leaving little time for family or personal milestones.

According to the order issued by DGP Salim, police personnel will now be eligible to avail casual leave on their birthday as well as on their marriage anniversary. The leave is intended to allow officers and staff to spend meaningful time with their families on important personal occasions.
Senior officials stated that the move acknowledges the demanding nature of police duty and the need to support mental well-being. By allowing personnel to take time off on special days, the department hopes to reduce stress and improve morale across the force.
The order makes it clear that the leave will be granted as part of casual leave provisions. It has been communicated to police units across the state for implementation. Officials believe this step will positively impact job satisfaction and encourage a healthier work-life balance among police personnel.
