On the occasion of Mysuru Dasara, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah extended his warm wishes to the people of Karnataka. Speaking to the media near M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru, the CM emphasized the need for a comprehensive survey to address social inequality. He stated that the survey would provide essential data to identify disparities, particularly focusing on literacy, poverty, and landlessness within different castes.

Chief Minister also meets with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge
During his visit to the hospital, the Chief Minister also met with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who is currently undergoing treatment. Siddaramaiah inquired about Kharge's health and was relieved to hear that his condition is improving.
The CM also expressed his intention to participate in the Dussehra Mahotsav celebrations in Mysuru, scheduled for the following day. "I wish the people of the state a happy Dasara and look forward to celebrating with them in Mysuru," he added.
On the issue of recent floods in North Karnataka, Siddaramaiah highlighted that nine districts, including Belagavi, Bijapur, and Bagalkot, accounted for 95% of the flood damage in the state. He welcomed Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s statement on flood relief but criticized the central government for its lack of support during the 2023 drought.
Finally, the CM reacted to ongoing discussions about a caste census, reaffirming his support for it. "The caste survey is not just about numbers; it’s a social, economic, and educational study. As Dr. Ambedkar said, eliminating inequality requires bringing marginalized communities into the mainstream," he concluded.
