In a significant step towards empowering women in the coffee industry, the Coffee Board of India has inaugurated a specialized kiosk at its Bengaluru office. The initiative, launched under the Atal Incubation Centre – Central Coffee Research Institute’s Center for Entrepreneurship Development (AIC-CCRI-CED), aims to provide comprehensive training and promote entrepreneurship among women in the coffee sector, spanning areas such as coffee cultivation, processing, and retail.

Programme designed to train 400 Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members
The kiosk is part of a larger programme designed to train 400 Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members, registered under the National Livelihood Mission, as Master Trainers in coffee brewing and café management. These women will, in turn, share their expertise with over 100,000 fellow SHG members across India, empowering them with the skills to thrive in the coffee industry.
Coffee Board Chairperson M.J. Dinesh, during the kiosk’s inauguration, also highlighted the upcoming centenary celebrations of the Central Coffee Research Institute in Balehonnur, further underscoring the board's commitment to innovation and growth in the coffee sector.
Coinciding with International Coffee Day, the Coffee Board, in partnership with the Specialty Coffee Association of India (SCAI), organized a walkathon titled 'Walk with Coffee,' which saw 400 coffee enthusiasts marching from M.G. Road to the Coffee Board office, celebrating the global coffee culture.
