D.K. Shivakumar confirmed a power-sharing pact with CM Siddaramaiah, denied change-of-guard talks, and offered prayers at temples in Uttara Kannada
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has confirmed that the Congress high command has established an agreement on power sharing between him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, stressing that both leaders will adhere to the arrangement.
Speaking to reporters in Karwar after visiting temples in Uttara Kannada district, Shivakumar explained that an understanding had been reached under the guidance of the party leadership and that both he and Siddaramaiah would follow it. His remarks come amid persistent speculation about internal power dynamics within the state Congress government.

Addressing questions on whether Siddaramaiah would serve a full five’s support and dismissed reports of a possible leadership change as media-driven controversy. He underlined that no discussion on a change of guard is taking place within the party.
Alongside his political statements, Shivakumar highlighted his personal temple visits in the region. He offered prayers at the Jagadeeshwari Ammanavaru Temple in Ankola, recalling that a family wish he had made there five years ago was fulfilled. He also visited Gokarna, Murdeshwara, and other temples, performing special poojas for the welfare of the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s comments aim to quell speculation and reinforce unity within the Congress leadership in Karnataka.
