The wait is almost over for lakhs of devotees who seek the divine darshan of the historic Hasanamba Devi, Karnataka’s very own Vaishno Devi! With just three days left for the temple doors to open, the district administration in Hassan is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a grand and smooth Jatre Mahotsava.

As per tradition, the sanctum sanctorum of the temple will open on October 9, the first Thursday of the Ashwija month, at around 12 noon. Devotees will be allowed darshan for 13 days this year, except on the opening and closing days, before the temple doors close again on October 23, the day after Balipadyami.

This time, the administration has brought in a major change, VIP and VVIP passes have been scrapped, replaced by a new Gold Pass system to ensure fairness and order. Moreover, the Hasanamba temple has gone hi-tech, for the first time in Karnataka, a WhatsApp chatbot will help devotees with ticket booking, queue status, darshan timings, and even e-hundi donations, all at their fingertips.
