Historic Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated in Pahalgam with tribute to terror victims

GBA Employees’ Welfare Association hosts Kannada Rajyotsava in Pahalgam with cultural events, tributes, and security deployment.

A historic Kannada Rajyotsava celebration was held in Pahalgam, bringing the spirit of Karnataka to the Valley in a rare cultural event. The programme was organised by the GBA Officers and Employees’ Welfare Association and drew participation from several notable personalities. Association president Amruth Raj, State Government Employees’ Association president C. S. Shadakshari, former mayors Gautham Kumar and Sampath Raj, and singer Anuradha Bhat were among those who took part in the event.

The celebration began with the rendition of the Nada Geethe, marking the formal opening of the Kannada Rajyotsava programme. A strong security arrangement was in place, with local police and military personnel ensuring smooth conduct throughout the event.

A central part of the programme was the tribute paid to victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Floral respects were offered to those who lost their lives, including Bharat Bhushan and Manjunath Rao. As part of the homage, attendees stood in silence for one minute to honour the victims.
