In Honnetalu village of Thirthahalli taluk, Shivamogga district, the water level in the Malathi river has risen significantly. Owing to heavy rains in Koppa, Sringeri Kammaradi, and Agumbe regions, normal life has been disrupted. Near Nabal, close to Agumbe under Honnetalu Gram Panchayat limits, roads have been blocked as water is overflowing, making vehicular movement extremely difficult.

In Thirthahalli town, the Rama Mantapa has been submerged for the third time due to relentless rains. The Gajanur Tunga reservoir has reached full capacity, while in Mattur, river water has entered farmlands, causing distress. Road connectivity to villages such as Kuskuru and Siddarahalli is also under threat.

A mishap occurred near Yediyur Lake in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, around 3 pm when a huge tree fell on a bus shelter. The incident also brought down three electric poles and damaged a bike parked behind the shelter. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. BBMP forest officials and BESCOM staff rushed to the spot and carried out clearance work.

In Gowdahalli of Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district, heavy rains have caused rivers and streams to overflow, turning roads into virtual canals. Due to intense rainfall in the Kudremukh region, the flow of the Bhadra river has surged drastically, resulting in the old Hebbale bridge near Kalasa being completely submerged, cutting off connectivity.

Torrential rains have left Sringeri submerged, with the swelling Tunga river overflowing into fields, farms, and plantations along its banks. Drone footage captured striking visuals of the town nearly underwater. Several cars parked at Gandhi Maidan near the Sringeri temple parking lot were also inundated.

Due to red alert warnings and continuous heavy rain forecasts, holidays have been declared for schools and colleges in several Karnataka districts. In Dakshina Kannada, all schools have been shut under a red alert. Kodagu, under an orange alert, has also announced holidays for all educational institutions. Similar rain holidays have been declared in Shivamogga, while in Hassan district, schools in Sakaleshpur, Belur, and Alur taluks remain closed. Uttara Kannada has announced holidays for all schools and colleges. In Chikkamagaluru, the Deputy Commissioner has ordered holidays for institutions in Koppa, Sringeri, Mudigere, NR Pura, and Kalasa regions.
