Karnataka’s KSDL sets historic production record in January

State-owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited achieves its highest-ever monthly output without adding machines or manpower.

Karnataka’s pride and state-owned enterprise, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), has begun the new year by creating a landmark achievement in its production history. In January, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly output, surpassing all previous records.

According to official data, KSDL produced 4,894.777 metric tonnes of products in January, marking the highest monthly production in the company’s history. This includes 3,798 metric tonnes of soaps, 941 metric tonnes of detergents, and 155 metric tonnes of cosmetic products.

The achievement has been widely praised, with Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil expressing appreciation for the milestone. The minister shared his congratulatory message through a post on his official X account, calling it a proud moment for Karnataka.

KSDL, a Karnataka government-owned company, has been consistently breaking its own records year after year. From 2020 to 2025, the organisation has steadily improved its output, crossing new benchmarks through a phased and sustained growth approach.

Notably, this record production was achieved without installing new machinery or hiring additional staff. The company managed the feat by fully utilising its existing infrastructure and workforce, highlighting operational efficiency.

Looking ahead, KSDL has set an ambitious target of achieving an annual turnover of ₹5,000 crore by 2030. The recent production milestone is being seen as a confident step towards reaching that long-term goal.
