An AI-backed claim links the widely used ‘evil eye’ image to YouTuber Niharika Rao, but questions over authenticity continue to fuel confusion.

The long-standing mystery surrounding the woman featured in the popular ‘drishti doll’ image has taken a surprising turn, after artificial intelligence tools allegedly traced the origin of the photo to a Karnataka-based YouTuber.

The image, commonly seen pasted at construction sites, newly opened shops, commercial complexes and storefronts, is widely believed to ward off the evil eye. For years, the woman’s identity remained unknown, even as the picture gained popularity across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and cities like Mumbai.

Now, an AI-assisted analysis has sparked fresh discussion by suggesting that the image belongs to Niharika Rao, a YouTuber from Karnataka. According to claims circulating online, the image appears to be a cropped frame from a video uploaded in 2023, capturing a particular facial expression made by her.

The claim gained traction after X (formerly Twitter) user Shantanu Goel shared details stating that AI technology was used to trace the background of the image. Despite the viral nature of the claim, no official confirmation has been made so far. The question of whether the image genuinely belongs to Niharika Rao remains unanswered, keeping the mystery alive. While some believe AI has finally revealed the source, others remain sceptical, pointing to the lack of verifiable proof.

As discussions continue across social media platforms, the origin of the ‘drishti doll’ woman remains a topic of intrigue, with AI adding a new layer to an already unresolved puzzle.
