Arun Yogiraj, a 40-year-old sculptor from Mysuru crafted idol

Silver bricks, gold chains for adorning Ram Lalla idol came from Karnataka

Karnataka has played a pivotal role in the construction of the monumental Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya, with key figures contributing significantly to the project.

Among them is Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji, the sole representative from South India in the 15-member Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Trust overseeing the temple construction. Since joining the trust two years ago, the seer has diligently supervised the temple’s construction, traveling between Udupi and Ayodhya.

Another noteworthy contributor is Gopal Nagarkatte, a Bengaluru native and the VHP national joint secretary. Entrusted with full authority to oversee the construction by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which has been at the forefront of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir project, Nagarkatte played a crucial role in the process.

Arun Yogiraj, a 40-year-old sculptor from Mysuru with a family legacy in sculpting, has crafted an idol for consecration at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Known for his expertise in monumental works, Yogiraj’s contribution adds to the collective efforts in building the temple.

Karnataka’s contributions extend beyond personnel to include materials such as 150 kilograms of agarbatti, silver bricks, and gold chains intended for adorning the Ram Lalla idol.

Additionally, a substantial quantity of Sadahalli Marble, extracted near Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli, Karnataka, has been transported to Ayodhya for the project. It is estimated that 700 to 800 tonnes of this marble have been used in the construction, highlighting Karnataka’s significant role in the Ayodhya Ram Temple project.

Furthermore, the muhurtham for consecration ceremony was also given by an astrologer from Karnataka, Vijayendra Sharma, Jyotishya Vidwamsa and Vice Chancellor of Belagavi Vidya Vihara Vidyalaya.
