Passenger traffic at the airport saw an impressive 11.6% increase over the previous year. Domestic travel continued to dominate, with a 10% growth pushing the number of domestic flyers to 36.05 million. Meanwhile, international passenger numbers also surged, reaching 5.83 million, cementing KIA’s position as one of the busiest international hubs in the country.

In the cargo sector, KIA handled 502,480 MT during the year, marking a historic milestone for the airport. This reflects the growing demand for both passenger and freight services in Bengaluru and the broader South Indian region.

Consistently ranked as India’s third busiest airport for international passengers over the last four months, KIA now provides non-stop connectivity to 76 domestic and 33 international destinations. The airport continues to expand its network, strengthening its role as a key gateway to South and Central India.

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) attributes this success to the city’s growing aviation demand and the airport’s strategic positioning, infrastructure, and connectivity, which continue to attract both passengers and cargo operators.
