The Dakshata Medal honours police personnel who have demonstrated excellence in various domains, including special operations, criminal investigations, and forensic science. The recognition of these officers coincides with the annual celebration of Ekta Divas today, commemorating the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, during which the medals are traditionally announced.
