Sandalwood star Kichcha Sudeep met with the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Koratagere constituency in the Tumkur district of Karnataka representing the Indian National Congress (INC) serving as the Minister of Home Affairs in the Government of Karnataka G Parameshwara. The meeting was regarding the construction of the Vishnu Memorial. He had earlier met the MLA from the Kanakapura constituency representing the INC serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar regarding the same issue.
He made a request to begin work on the Vishnu Memorial at the earliest. The Celebrity Cricket League is set to commence from January, and will also feature Kichcha Sudeep. Sudeep extended invitations for the CCL to the two politicians.
Earlier in the year former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had inaugurated a memorial of late actor Vishnuvardhan at the Haalalu village near Mysuru. A 7 feet statue of the actor was also installed in the memorial. The cost of the memorial was Rs 11 crore.
A request for a memorial near his crematorium in Rajarajeshwari Nagar has been longstanding. The government had released Rs 2 crore for this purpose. The government has expressed its intent for this project to materialise.
