Rao and Khan, who tied the knot in 2005 and announced their divorce in 2021, continue to share a close bond. Kiran’s participation in the wedding festivities of Aamir and Reena Dutta’s daughter Ira Khan recently sparked curiosity about their relationship dynamics. Addressing this, Kiran explained, “I was very keen on having my space and feeling independent again. We have a strong equation as co-parents and as a family, which helped us navigate the divorce. Knowing that Azad’s dad is also my friend and family gave me comfort.”
She further reflected on the emotional journey leading to their separation, stating, “It took me a while to get there mentally and emotionally. Both Aamir and I needed to be secure in the fact that we’re not going anywhere. We’re there for each other for the long term, just not as a married couple.”
