The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) employees have postponed their planned statewide strike, ensuring that the supply of milk and curd will continue without disruption.

The KMF Employees' Association had earlier announced a strike demanding salary revisions per the 7th Pay Commission, raising concerns about milk and curd distribution. However, following an emergency press conference, the association clarified that the strike has been put on hold after KMF Chairman Bhima Nayak requested three days to address their demands.
A longstanding standoff between the KMF management and employees has fueled the protest, with workers voicing discontent over the delay in implementing uniform salary allowances across district unions. While the state government has implemented the 7th Pay Commission for its employees, KMF staff claim they have not received the same benefits.
Honorary President of the KMF Employees' Association, Ravi Krishna Reddy, highlighted that KMF operates with 16 district unions, a ₹16,000 crore turnover, and directly employs 6,000 people. The federation procures 90 lakh liters of milk daily, with 60 lakh liters supplied and 30 lakh processed into other dairy products.
The employees' association has set a deadline of February 7 for the KMF management to fulfill their demands. If the issue remains unresolved, the possibility of a strike remains on the table, potentially affecting milk supply across Karnataka.
