Kolkata: 23-year-old woman tortured in Howrah for refusing to act in porn films

A shocking case of abuse has come to light from Howrah’s Domjur area, where a 23-year-old woman from North 24 Parganas was held captive and tortured for six months by a mother and son who tried to force her into acting in porn films. The accused, operating a supposed film production unit, allegedly targeted the victim with false job promises, only to subject her to brutal violence when she resisted their demands to perform in such adult content .

The ordeal began when the woman, seeking employment, was lured to the accused’s home in Howrah. The perpetrators, a woman and her son, promised her work but instead confined her, confiscated her mobile phone, and beat her with iron rods. The mother, alleged to be involved in a local sex racket, and her son ran their operation under the guise of a legitimate business. When the victim refused their coercive demands, she faced relentless physical assault. She managed to escape and filed a complaint, revealing the horrific abuse she endured.

Police have launched a search operation for the fleeing duo.The woman is receiving medical care for severe injuries sustained during her captivity. Authorities are investigating the accused’s production unit, suspected to be a front for illicit activities targeting vulnerable young women with job offers. The case has sparked outrage, with calls for stricter oversight of such predatory operations.
