Yet again, the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) finds itself mired in controversy, this time over allegations of a question paper leak during its ongoing mains examination. The issue erupted at Kasturinagar exam center, where candidates accused the staff of opening the sealed question paper bundle even before entering the exam hall, suggesting a breach in protocol and potential leakage of the paper.

Tensions escalated between the examination staff and the candidates, leading to a verbal altercation at the site. The controversy comes as the KPSC mains examinations commenced on May 3 across the state. While paper leaks and procedural lapses have shadowed KPSC in the past, this latest incident has once again raised serious questions about the commission’s credibility and transparency.
Adding to the candidates’ frustration is the fact that hall tickets for the examination were distributed only a night before the exam, leaving aspirants with little time to prepare logistics or mentally ready themselves. Candidates have voiced their anger on social media and to media outlets, questioning how such a prestigious institution can repeatedly fumble basic exam protocols and escape scrutiny.
Despite mounting criticism, KPSC is yet to release a formal clarification or take accountability deepening public distrust in the recruitment process meant to be fair and merit-based.
