At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon addressed the often-debated topic of nepotism in the film industry. Sharing her perspective, Sanon emphasized that success in Bollywood hinges on talent and audience connection rather than family background alone.

Sanon pointed out that the media and audience interest in star kids play a significant role in shaping the industry's dynamics. “The audience is interested in them, so the industry thinks, ‘Let’s make a movie with them.’ It’s a cycle,” she explained. However, she was quick to assert that talent ultimately prevails. “If you’re not talented and don’t connect with the audience, you won’t make it,” Sanon said confidently.

Acknowledging the struggles faced by outsiders, Sanon highlighted the hurdles of gaining recognition in an industry where opportunities often seem limited. “It takes time for outsiders to reach their goals. Even getting on a magazine cover feels like a struggle,” she remarked. Despite these challenges, Sanon encouraged perseverance, adding, “If you keep working hard, even after two or three films, nothing can stop you.”

Sanon’s latest film, Do Patti, a gripping thriller, reflects her dedication to carving her own path in the industry. The actress’s comments sparked a broader conversation about the interplay between audience expectations, media influence, and the evolving landscape of Bollywood.
