According to eyewitness reports and CCTV footage exclusively accessed by NewsFirst Prime, the bus was reportedly speeding when it collided with two motorcycles at the curve. The collision caused the driver to lose control, after which the bus veered off the road and tumbled into a ditch.
The deceased has been identified as Nagraj, a sub-inspector from Electronic City Police Station, who was on one of the motorcycles involved in the crash. He died on the spot due to the impact. The other motorcyclist sustained injuries but is currently stable.
Seven passengers onboard the KSRTC bus also sustained injuries, ranging from minor to serious. They were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities occurred among the passengers.
Initial police investigations suggest that overspeeding and loss of control at a sharp turn were the primary causes of the accident. Kaggalipura Police have registered a case and are investigating further. Authorities are also checking if there were any mechanical issues with the vehicle.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns over road safety, especially on sharp turns and poorly monitored routes around Bengaluru. Officials are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially in hilly and curve-prone zones.
