KSRTC to recruit over 500 drivers through a private recruitment agency. KSRTC and state's all other transport corporations are currently facing staff crunch across all its divisions and is short of over 15000 staff.

In order to recruit staff for all the vacant positions, KSRTC has planned to knock on the doors of private agency to find suitable staff to work in KSRTC and other corporations.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC), North West Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) are the state's four transport corporations that are facing shortage of over 15,000 staff, including drivers.

The recruited drivers will not be immediately allowed to operate buses as they will have to go through a rigorous set of tests and trainings by KSRTC before placing them on their jobs as drivers in KSRTC. The training will be spread over a period of two months.

After thorough training they will be placed in divisions like Mangaluru and Ramanagara, where there is shortage of drivers.

Staff crunch is hampering the progress of transport corporations and delivery of effective services to passengers.

KSRTC has also initiated the e-tender process for the recruitment of staff into its corporations. Drivers recruited will not be provided any incentives.
