Mimicry artist, who acted in Kantara, Viju VK, aged 33, from Thrissur, Kerala, tragically passed away due to a heart attack on June 11 in Agumbe. Viju was in Karnataka, staying at a homestay near Agumbe, when he experienced severe chest pain late Tuesday night. Though he was rushed to a hospital in Tirthahalli, he succumbed on the way. His family from Kerala is expected to arrive soon to manage further arrangements.

Viju was known for his versatile mimicry skills and had recently been involved in the shooting of the highly anticipated film ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, this prequel to the 2022 pan-India blockbuster ‘Kantara’ is produced by Hombale Films and slated for release on October 2, 2025. The moviefeatures a stellar cast including Jayaram, Kishore, and Jayasurya, blending folklore with cinematic brilliance. Viju’s contribution to the project added to its vibrant ensemble, though details of his role remain undisclosed.

The sudden loss has stunned the entertainment community, with local authorities coordinating with his family.
