According to reports, the global collection on Day 1 stood at Rs 67.50 crore, with Rs 43 crore coming from overseas markets. The film has now set a new record as the biggest opening for a Malayalam film globally, surpassing even any Bollywood film in the overseas box office.

Mohanlal reprises his iconic role as Stephen Nedumpally, aka Khureshi-Ab’raam, from the previous film. The movie also stars Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, and Eriq Ebouaney.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Gokulam Gopalan, and Subaskaran Allirajah, L2 Empuraan is one of the most expensive productions in Malayalam cinema. The film combines intense socio-political drama, with Mohanlal’s commanding presence at its core. In addition to Malayalam, it is released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.
