A lawyer, Mohammad Faizan Khan, was taken into custody in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly issuing a death threat to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The Mumbai Police report that Khan demanded Rs 50 lakh from the actor, famous for his roles in recent blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, which have reignited his iconic status as "King Khan."

The threat was reportedly made via a phone call, traced back to Faizan Khan's registered number. Initially, Khan claimed his phone had been stolen and filed a police report on November 2, but he failed to appear before Mumbai authorities, leading to his arrest. He now faces charges under Sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for extortion and criminal intimidation involving threats of serious harm.

This incident adds to recent threats faced by Bollywood celebrities. Last month, Shah Rukh Khan received heightened Y+ security, which includes six armed personnel providing 24/7 protection. His fellow actor Salman Khan was also targeted recently, allegedly by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Just days ago, a Rajasthan resident was arrested in Karnataka for issuing threats to Salman Khan, demanding an apology for past controversies involving the Bishnoi community.

Both incidents have prompted increased security measures, underscoring the ongoing challenges Bollywood stars face amid rising threats.
