In an interesting development, Fakir Dingaleshwar Swamiji has decided that he would be contesting from the Dharwad constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. After holding a meeting with many other saints, he announced his decision.
The meeting took place at the Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha Sabhangana on the Palace Grounds Inner Road in Bengaluru. “There was a demand for me to contest elections. We have communicated our message through media channels. I will be contesting as an independent candidate. The people of Dharwad feel that Congress and BJP have a mutual understanding. It is akin to betrayal. There shouldn’t be politics in religion. But there can be religion in politics. People shared their difficulties with us,” Dingaleshwar Swamiji said after the meeting.

Dingaleshwar Swamiji pointed out that the BJP hasn’t provided a single Lok Sabha ticket to a person belonging to the Kuruba community. “Eshwarappa’s son travelled across Haveri for 18 months but yet he was sidelined,” he added.
Dingaleshwar Swamiji also took a dig at the Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. “Joshi claims that he will win by a margin of 5 lakh votes. Can 5 lakh votes be found in his pocket? Is this how he views the people of Dharwad? If any saint has spoken against me, it is due to fear of Pralhad Joshi. My fight is against misadministration. I won’t accept garlands consisting of flowers until I achieve my goal,” he mentioned.
