Member of Parliament (MP) from Mysuru Pratap Simha is known as a firebrand leader. He is however reportedly facing roadblocks to receive a nomination for the third consecutive from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest from Mysuru. 

Pratap Simha held a Facebook Live session. He became emotional during his live session and even shed tears. There are speculations that he might not have been considered as a candidate from Mysuru. He highlighted the developmental works undertaken by him during his tenure. He pointed out that party workers in his constituency were in his support when BJP leaders such as Eshwarappa and Nithin Gadkari visited him. He also questioned which other MP out of the 28 MPs from Karnataka talk about the work they have done during their time and have support from across various parts of the state. He also stated that the love that has been poured onto him from various constituencies is the most important thing for him as he is not hungry for positions of power. He thanked the BJP for giving him the responsibility despite only having been a journalist before assuming power. 

It is being said that Yaduveer of the Mysuru royalty may contest from BJP.
