HD Kumaraswamy would campaign for Sumalatha

Sumatha is expected to campaign for the JD(S) in Mandya

A decision is likely to be taken in the next one or two days

The Mandya Lok Sabha constituency upon which both independent Member of Parliament (MP) Sumalatha and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) had laid eyes on had become a battleground for an interesting contest. Both these factions endorsed the candidature of Narendra Modi for the post of the Prime Minister (PM). Reports suggest that a compromise has been arrived at in this regard. 

Sumalatha had been invited to Delhi by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) high command. Sumalatha has apparently been requested to let go of her aspirations for the Mandya seat. In return, she has made a generous offer. 

As per sources close to NewsFirst, Sumalatha has been made an offer to contest from the BJP in the Chikkaballapur constituency. The current MP from Chikkaballapur Bachegowda has already announced that he would retire from electoral politics. BJP Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Yelahanka Vishwanath and former MLA Sudhakr also had their eyes on the seat. Sumalatha has supposedly been promised that were she to take on the offer, JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy would campaign for her in the region. In return Sumatha is expected to campaign for the JD(S) in Mandya. 

Sumalatha is yet to convey her decision with regard to this offer. She is believed to have met Home Minister Amit Shah. A decision is likely to be taken in the next one or two days.
