Veena held a meeting with KPCC Working President Vinay Kulkarni
I am capable of contesting without the need to rely on my husband: Veena
Samyukta Patil was announced as the INC candidate
Upon having missed out on the Indian National Congress (INC) ticket for the Bagalkot constituency Veena Kashappanavar has expressed disappointment. “I need to get justice. Contesting as an independent candidate is guaranteed if I do not,” Veena said.
Veena held a meeting with the recently appointed working president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vinay Kulkarni. On 28th March, a meeting along with the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and other legislators from the region is scheduled in Bengaluru. “I am capable of contesting on my own without the need to rely on my husband. He is not related to this. The people of the district are by my side,” Veena proclaimed. Veena’s husband Vijayananad Kashappanavar is a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the INC representing the Hungund constituency located in Bagalkot.
Supporters of Veena expressed their anger in the meeting with Vinay Kulkarni and endorsed her as a candidate for Bagalkot. Questions were posed by supporters during Vinay’s speech in the meeting. Vinay assured a reconciliation during the meeting on 28th March. Samyukta Patil, daughter of Textiles, Sugarcane Development and APMC Minister Shivanand Patil was announced as the INC candidate from Bagalkot.
