In a surprising turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and royal scion Yaduveer Wodeyar has won by a great margin in Mysuru, the home district of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. This victory has sent shockwaves to Congress as it had high hopes of winning Mysuru-Kodagu constituency, but it suffered a crushing defeat.

Yaduveer Wodeyar, a member of the Mysore royal family, secured a remarkable win with a total of 714,906 votes. In contrast, Congress candidate M. Lakshmana managed to garner only 604,352 votes, resulting in a margin of over 1 lakh votes in favor of the BJP.
