An atmosphere of festival takes over Karnataka as a few constituencies vote in phase 1 of the Lok Sabha polls 2024.

People queued up early in the morning as the voting began at sharp 7 am across the state. Prominent voters included Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, actors Sapthami Gowda, Prakash Raj, among others.
What was heartening was to see the aged and senior citizens enthusiastically vote. In an inspirational gesture, a 105-year-old woman Muniyamma cast her vote in Kolar.

In Bengaluru, a retired air marshall (94) cast his vote while a wheelbound person also took the pains of coming to the station to cast his vote.

Others included Congress MLA Ramalinga Reddy and his daughter Souwmya Reddy, Kupendra Reddy, among others.
The voting will continue to go on till 6 in the evening. A total of 14 constituencies are going for polls. Nationally, it is 89 constituencies in 13 states.
India is voting for a new government in a 7-phase election. The results of which will be declared on June 4.
We urge all people, from the young to the old, to come out of their confines and cast their vote in order to elect a stable government.
