This announcement came during a gathering at Ambedkar Bhavan in Mandya, organized to gauge the opinion of party workers in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the gathering, Kumaraswamy reminisced about their shared history, emphasizing his deep-rooted connections with Ambarish and their mutual upbringing filled with affection.

Reflecting on past political tensions, Kumaraswamy expressed his commitment to resolving differences and paying homage to their shared friend, Ambarish.

He acknowledged the unresolved issues surrounding the Vishnuvardhan memorial and affirmed their duty to honour Ambarish’s legacy, underscoring his rise from humble beginnings to success in the film industry.

The conflict between Kumaraswamy and Sumalatha arose during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections when she contested as an independent candidate while Kumaraswamy supported his son Nikhil from the JDS.

Despite the electoral contest being over, tensions persisted between them, with accusations exchanged regarding the Mandya constituency.
