With elections just a throwaway, the Bengaluru police have seized unaccounted cash amounting to crores. The incident took place at Bengaluru’s Jayanagar area. The wads of notes were found stashed in gunny bags in two cars, that included one brand new Benz car, that had no number plate. The other car has been identified as Volkswagon.

Model code of conduct

The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) which kicks in the moment the election dates are announced by the Election Commission (EC) prohibits the transfer of such unaccounted money.

Jayanagar area falls under the Bengaluru South constitutency, represented by BJP’s Tejasvi Surya.

The nation will vote for a new government in a seven-phase election, starting April 19 to June 1. Karnataka will vote on April 26 and May 7.

The election results will be declared on June 4th. While Modi looks for a hattrick, the INDI Alliance is hoping to be the party pooper.
