One of the most surprising trends in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election in Karnataka is the enormous lead taken by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Bengaluru Rural constituency. His lead has extended itself into a 6 digit number. Speaking to NewsFirst he stated that he expected his lead to extend up to 2 lakh. He indicated that the goodwill he had earned during his career as a doctor must have played a significant role in the results which are being seen.

D.K Suresh had been the only candidate to win from the Indian National Congress (INC) in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. This time however they have gained leads in 10 constituencies. This loss has significant implications for the internal dynamics in the Indian National Congress (INC). Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was a frontrunner for the Chief Ministerial position after Siddarmaiah. However this would be a major setback as DK Suresh is his brother. The Bengaluru Rural constituency was considered to be the stronghold of the Indian National Congress (INC) and especially that of the D.K brothers. The Kalyan Karnataka region has voted firmly in favour of the Indian National Congress. This would imply that the stature of the INC President Mallikarjun Kharge who hails from that region remains intact.
