Buoyed by the Bharatiya Janata Party rolling out the red carpet for him, Yaduveer Wadiyar, the Maharaja of Mysore, paid a visit to senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa.
On his part, Yediyurappa welcomed him happily and asserted that his candidacy would add more fillip to the saffron party. He further underscored how several neighbouring constituencies would also benefit by his contesting.
The scion, after meeting the senior leader, informed the media as to how he has been shouldering the responsibilities related to the palace. Most prominently, he noted how he had made up his mind to take part in the elections a year ago itself.
On the issue of working assiduously for this constituency if he wins, he said he would make sure the difficulties of the people of his constituency would be solved.
Pratap Simha axed
Incumbent MP from the constituency, Pratap Simha was sidelined by the BJP. Though he was visibly upset over the move, he put out a tweet extending his support to the scion.
It is said that the top brass was unhappy with him as it was he issued passes to those who endangered the lives of parliamentarians by creating trouble on the premises.
