Bremmer noted that while global issues such as US-China relations, ongoing wars, and the upcoming US election contribute to a climate of instability, the Indian election remains a rare point of consistency.

The Lok Sabha elections

India is electing a new government in a seven-phase election that goes on till June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.

While PM Modi is seeking a hattrick of victories, the INDI Alliance hopes to be the party spoiler. As per several surveys, NDA is set to win the polls convincingly, but the alliance is confident that there will be a change in the regime.

To bolster his chances, Modi is banking on his huge popularity, coupled with several important policies that he has introduced, including NEP, but the opposition is pointing at an anti-incumbency wave.
