Tina Laminai, a resident of London has developed a condition referred to as gastroparesis, 4 years back. She has since then been unable to consume food in a timely and regular manner. Each time she consumes food she ends up vomiting the food.
"Every time I ate food I was in chronic pain, being sick. I was bringing it up at night and then it's going back down with all the acid. I couldn't take it, so I was put on a feeding tube, just in the short term, we hoped. I can't go out, I haven’t been on a holiday in four years, and I always have to have somebody with me. I've got a disabled badge because I can't walk very far,” Tina told the Sun.
Tina has been fed through a tube ever since. A feeding tube has been attached through her nose down the throat to her bowel. A tube has been fitted through a hole in her abdomen bypassing her stomach.
Gastroparesis is also referred to as stomach paralysis. This condition impairs the muscles and nerves of the stomach. The digestive process also gets slowed down because of the condition. The digestive system needs to be given a shock treatment in order to carry out its function.
