“Made in Heaven” season 2 to release on Prime Video on August 10th

Producer of the series, Farhan Akthar made an announcement on Twitter earlier in the day about the release date of the season 2 of the fan favourite “Made in Heaven”. It is set to hit the OTT platform Amazon Prime on 10th August. The cast of the film has some stellar figures such as Shobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank S Arora, Vijay Raaz, Ishwak Singh and Trinetra. With the exception of Ishwak Singh and Trinetra, the rest of the cast had made an appearance in the previous season as well. Just like the previous season, this time too it would be directed by Zoya Akthar, sister of producer Farhan Akthar and Reema Katgi. 

The first season received critical acclaim for showing the characters navigating between the traditional and modern aspects of the Indian lifestyle. It touched upon many relevant social issues such as dowry harassment, same sex relationships and sexual assault. It received praise for its layered characters, complex stories and amazing performances. It follows the 2 story of 2 wedding planners who are also very close friends. In an anthology-like format it shows the story of different couples and their relationship across different episodes. The show was also nominated for the Emmy awards.
