National highways within Karnataka could be blocked on October 10
Vatal Nagaraj demands Karnataka MPs to resign from their positions
Vatal Nagaraj believes this move would underscore the gravity of situation
Bengaluru’s Attibele and various national highways in Karnataka are slated to face disruptions on October 10. A prominent pro-Kannada activist, Vatal Nagaraj, plans to escalate his protests related to the contentious Cauvery water issue by blocking all national highways within Karnataka on October 10.
Speaking at a gathering in Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru, Nagaraj announced his plans to obstruct all national highways in the state, shedding light on the perceived mistreatment of Karnataka residents by their Tamil Nadu counterparts.
Former Chamarajanagar MLA Vatal Nagaraj particularly focused on blocking the highway near Attibele, alluding to the long-standing water scarcity issue at the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam. He expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response to this ongoing dispute, labeling it as “inadequate.”
In a bid to resolve the Cauvery water-sharing problem, Nagaraj called for Prime Minister Modi’s intervention, emphasizing the escalating tensions between the southern states.
He also made a bold suggestion for Karnataka’s Members of Parliament to resign from their positions, believing this move would underscore the gravity of the situation.
Importantly, Nagaraj also stressed the importance of keeping this issue apolitical, highlighting that both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu depend on the Cauvery River, underscoring the need for a peaceful resolution.
