Karnataka-based humanitarian and spiritual leader, Madhusudhan Sai, has been awarded Fiji’s highest civilian honour, the ‘Companion of the Order of Fiji’. The award was presented by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu at a ceremony held at the State House in Fiji. This prestigious honour has previously been awarded to prominent figures such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.

Sai received the recognition primarily for his significant contribution to healthcare in Fiji, particularly through the establishment of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital. In a press release by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sai credited the award to the collective efforts of many individuals working for the upliftment of communities across the Pacific region.

According to his website, Madhusudan Sai is spearheading a global movement blending spirituality and service, with operations in 33 countries. Since 2011, his initiatives have supported countless underprivileged children through free healthcare and education. His network includes 11 specialty hospitals in India, and additional facilities in Fiji, Sri Lanka, the USA, and Nigeria. He also runs 37 educational institutions in India and others abroad, providing values-based education to over 5,000 students.

His morning nutrition program reaches over 1.2 million children daily, while 12 Centres for Human Development in 11 countries focus on fostering global unity and welfare.
