Maharaja T20 Trophy: 3 teams compete for 2 semifinal spots

27th August would be the final day of the group stages of the Maharaja T20 trophy. Hubli Tigers have emerged as the table toppers with 8 wins from 10 games. This is a comfortable 4 point lead to those next in the table. Mysuru Warriors have also confirmed themselves a spot in the semi final. However whether they would finish 2nd or 3rd in the table would be dependent on the result of the match between Mangalore Dragons and Gulbarga Mystics.

Gulbarga Mystics could end up finishing 2nd if they reach the target with a substantial number of balls remaining to be played as the difference in net run rates between the 2 teams is 0.26 with both teams having the same number of losses. Mangalore Dragons are also in contention for a semi final spot but they would have to win against Gulbarga Mystics in order to ease their nerves. If they fail to do so, they would have to place their hope on Bengaluru Blasters, who have already been eliminated from the tournament, to defeat Shivamogga Lions later in the day.
