Firebrand TMC MP Mahua Moitra has tied the knot with Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and senior Supreme Court lawyer Pinaki Mishra in a private ceremony in Germany. The 50-year-old parliamentarian from West Bengal, known for her fiery critiques of the BJP, has not publicly commented on the marriage, nor has Mishra. However, candid photos of the couple strolling hand-in-hand have gone viral on social media, sparking widespread curiosity and congratulations.

This marks the second marriage for both politicians. Moitra was previously married to Danish financier Lars Brosson, while Mishra, who represents the Puri Lok Sabha constituency in Odisha, has had a distinguished career in both politics and law, winning parliamentary elections in 2009, 2014, and 2019.
Moitra, a former investment banker educated in the U.S., entered Indian politics after returning from abroad. She initially joined the Congress before moving to the Trinamool Congress, winning the Krishnanagar seat in 2019 and again in 2024 despite a turbulent term. In 2023, she was embroiled in controversy over allegations involving her former partner Jai Anant Dehadrai and lobbying-related misconduct, which led to her temporary suspension from the Lok Sabha.
Her marriage to Mishra, kept away from public glare, underscores a personal milestone for the outspoken leader. Moitra’s union at 50 also sends a strong message: love and companionship know no age limit.
