In a major operation, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and Narcotics Control Squad carried out a successful drug bust in Bengaluru, seizing illegal substances and arresting eight individuals. Acting on reliable intelligence, the authorities raided a lodge in Attur Layout in Yelahanka New Town where drugs were reportedly being sold.

The accused, all originally from Kerala had come to Bengaluru under the guise of employment but were involved in drug peddling to fund a lavish lifestyle.
During the raid, officials seized 110 grams of MDMA crystals, 10 mobile phones, one laptop, and two cars used in the criminal activity. The total value of the seized items is estimated at around Rs 27 lakh. Investigations revealed that the peddlers primarily targeted college students and IT employees, selling MDMA tablets for Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 each.
The accused are currently in custody and are being interrogated for further details regarding their network and suppliers. Police had been gathering information on the group for some time before making the arrests.
