The intrigue around the investigation of Renukaswamy’s murder hasn’t died down even after 3 weeks of the incident coming to light. 17 suspects including the Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star are currently under judicial custody. 13 of them are lodged in the Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru whereas 4 of them are lodged in a prison in Tumakuru. 

Malathi Sudhir, who is the mother of Tharun Sudhir who directed Kaatera starring Darshan spoke to NewsFirst with regard to the developments in the case. “Kindly forgive me. Do not ask me about this case. I will be reduced to tears. We are already in tears. Please do not ask us anything,” she said. She folded her hands upon being the question. This gesture indicated discomfort. Malathi was also known to be very close to Darshan by virtue of his association to Tharun. The two shared a bond that could be likened to the bond shared between a mother and a son.

Renukaswamy is said to have sent obscene messages to actress Pavithra Gowda who is also currently languishing behind bars. This resulted in a sequence of events whose outcome was Renukaswamy’s death.
